2008 Event Summary

A special thanks to all attendees, participants and sponsors at the 2008 1st Annual Think Green Eco Expo, in Playa Del Carmen. The first year we were located at Coffee Cafe on the corner of Calle 34 and the famous 5th Avenue or “Quinta Avenida”.

We had over 25 excited participants showing off a wide variety of ecological products and services. Our variety included, Spa’s Organic handmade bread, Solar panels, Holistic medicine, Raw food dishes, biodegradable cleaning products, organic chocolate and much more.

With over 3000 attendees, we can declare the first ever eco festival a huge success. With the support from the Medio Ambiente branch of the Municipio here in Playa del Carmen, we were able to create a new celebration and learning adventure for Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya.

Our marketing plan was based 80% on the internet; any printed materials used were printed on 100% recycled materials. On location we used solar and wind power to supply the event. We wanted to become a neutral event at minimum. Maramex provided us with recycling bins for all types of recyclable materials and other waste bins were on site for non recyclable materials.
